Changes to Grading:
Granite School District has made a few changes to the way that grades will calculate:
1. Three assessments are no longer required for each standard, so grades will start calculating as soon as there are any assessments in Gradebook. We will still give three assessments for most standards so that we can track progress, but some standards may only merit one or two.
2. The most recent score for each standard will be used as the grade for that standard. This change was made so that as students progress, their grade shows that growth. This allows students to ultimately show what they have learned. Because of this, I will put pretest scores in Gradebook to show how the student has grown because students are not penalized for score that are early in the learning cycle.
3. Grades will not be carried over from the previous quarter. Students will have a fresh slate at the beginning of each quarter.
